TIP: Billboard design is one of the hardest of all graphic design and advertising disciplines. Take an entire brand story or advertising campaign and distill it down to one image and 5 words or less. Believe us, designing a billboard is hard. Then, combine the fact that your reader is distracted, driving 60 mph, and may not have any interest in what you are selling. If you are a graphic designer, start with only placing an image and see if it tells a story. If not, add three words, and only three words. For example, place the image of the perfect hamburger in all its juicy glory. Now add, “Hungry Yet?” Include the logo and you could be done. See how that works?
