Delivering on a Promise of Building a Stronger Community.
The deal a year in the making, Adams Dairy Bank announces acquisition of the shopping center it has called “home” since April 2008. Ownership is symbolic of the bank’s long-term commitment to the greater eastern Jackson County community. Located at Coronado Place on NE Coronado Drive the building solidifies the bank’s foundation for growth.
While other banks around the nation have become more and more transient by opening, closing and selling branches, Adams Dairy Bank has done just the opposite by planting a stake in the ground via this significant investment.
“We believe in this bank and this community so much that we wanted to show our commitment in the best way possible,” said David Chinnery, bank president and CEO. “We are all-in, physically and financially,” added Chinnery. “Our investment in this shopping center will help other local businesses grow and prosper. This is the very essence of what makes community banking great for everyone.”
Since the beginning, Adams Dairy Bank has always maintained just one location, relying on its convenient access to its local business and personal banking customers. Technology, like online banking and remote deposit allows the bank to provide the most demanded services, while remaining fiscally sound. The single location strategy supports the bank’s history and future of profitable growth, in turn allowing it to promote the Blue Springs economy.
“In 2008, hours and hours were spent scouring the community for our perfect location. The empty land off I-70 and Adams Dairy Parkway made sense when we ran the traffic and exposure numbers. It’s exciting to have now purchased our original strategically chosen location. The reasons we originally selected it still hold true today. Plus, the purchase gives us room for more growth and control over our future,” explains Chinnery.
Property ownership and future expansion is a conservative, rational and fiscally responsible action – a course that Adams Dairy Bank follows, which is to the benefit of the bank’s customers. This and a smart approach to control overhead costs are a few of the many reasons why the bank is one of the few left in the country not charging monthly fees.
“We can control our appeal and image, plus make necessary improvements for the bank as we grow, by taking ownership of the property. Our plans include a reconfigured drive-thru to accommodate increased transactions and greater efficiency. Like every decision we make, we work in the best interest of our community and customers,” states Cathy Lincoln, the bank’s chairman of the board.
