National “Big Brother” of the Year, Chris Rosburg, Puts Profits Behind His Passion

Chris and DarrionOn the heels of being named state and national Big Brother of the Year, CR Promotion’s owner, Rosburg deems June as the company’s Big Brother Big Sister month, donating a percentage of the month’s sales to Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Kansas City.

Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Kansas City (BBBSKC) will receive 5% of CR Promotions’ sales throughout the month of June. CR Promotions is a Kansas City-based branded merchandise and custom apparel company, serving some of the biggest, most recognized brands in the U.S. The donation comes on the heels of Chris Rosburg, CR Promotions owner and president, being honored as Big Brothers Big Sisters of America’s National Big Brother of the Year on June 3 at the 2015 National Conference in Philadelphia, PA.

Rosburg, Kansas City native and also named Missouri’s Big Brother of the Year, has been involved with the mentoring organization for five years as not only a “Big Brother” to Darrion, but also as president of the junior board, The Big Impact Group. He shares his story, recruits others to become “Bigs” and raises thousands of dollars for BBBSKC each year. Darrion, now 14 years old, and his mother will take their first trip via plane to Philadelphia, joining Rosburg at the convention.

“Chris is so deserving of the Big Brother of the Year honor. His relationship with Darrion has been truly life changing for Darrion and Darrion’s entire family. Chris is one of our most loyal advocates. His company, CR Promotions, is an incredible partner to BBBSKC. We are grateful for their support and excited for the promotion during June when proceeds from each promotional item purchased with go directly to BBBSKC to help create more life changing friendships in our local community. CR Promotions’ BBBS month is helping Kansas City children,” states Kristi Hutchison, Chief Marketing Officer, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Kansas City.

BBBSKC was CR Promotions’ first customer, and the partnership continues today. The company’s “BBBS Month” is an opportunity to give back to the organization during its crucial annual fundraising drive. BBBS’s biggest fundraisers take place throughout June and July. With CR Promotions donating 5 percent of its June sales to BBBSKC, the company hopes to encourage its customers to get involved.

“When I signed up to be a ‘Big’ five years ago, my hope was to positively affect a child’s life. It’s humbling to be recognized at the state and national level for mentoring such an awesome ‘Little’ like Darrion. There are 200,000 people just like me – all giving their time and working to make a difference in children’s lives across the country as ‘Bigs.’ Not only in the Kansas City community, but also across the country, I’m just one of many ‘Bigs’ who have the same hope.  By donating a portion of our June sales to BBBSKC, we can help match the local 500+ kids on the waiting list who want (and need) a positive role model,” explains Rosburg.
