KANSAS CITY, MO (May 19, 2009) – After a year-long fundraising effort, Brookside Barkery & Bath will donate the proceeds from the sale of their custom recycled shopping bags to Spay & Neuter Kansas City (SNKC). Brookside Barkery will present a check for over $1,000 to SNKC at the grand opening of SNKC’s new location on May 27th at 59th and Troost.
Tough economic times are making it more difficult for some pet owners to afford the veterinary care of spay and neuter services, as well as routine vaccinations which makes SNKC’s mission to decrease pet-overpopulation even more valuable. Brookside Barkery & Bath co-owners Delena Stout and Debra Manfield are committed to doing whatever they can to help SNKC continue their mission.
“SNKC is a great organization that is making it possible for those with financial need to still enjoy being responsible pet owners, as well as helping reduce the number of unwanted and stray animals entering shelters in the area,” said Stout.
The SNKC grand opening ceremony on May 27th from 10 a.m. to 7:15 p.m. is open to the public. A presentation will start at 6:15 p.m., including the Brookside Barkery & Bath donation.
