Synetic Technologies, the highest certified IT equipment disposal company in Kansas City, to hold an electronics recycling event for the public in conjunction with hosting North Kansas City Business Council’s First Friday Coffee.
Synetic Technologies will be the host of a First Friday Coffee for North Kansas City Business Council members and guests at their new location at 1120 Clay on Friday, March 6, from 7:30 a.m. until 9:00 a.m. In addition to serving coffee and breakfast items, attendees have an opportunity to meet other North Kansas City business owners and tour Synetic’s new facility.
In conjunction with First Friday Coffee, Synetic is holding an electronics recycling event open to the public to accept their surplus electronic devices.
Items that will be accepted and safely recycled at no charge include: computers, laptops, LCDs, cell phones, printers, scanners, modems, CD drives, cables, keyboards, mice, VCRs, DVD players, camcorders, cameras, game players and joysticks, telephones, pagers, answering machines, typewriters, calculators, adding machines, fax machines, copiers and postage meters. There is a fee of $15 for recycling tube televisions and $25 for wooden console and DLP-rear projection TVs. The fee for recycling computer monitors is $8. The fees are necessary to cover the additional costs of legally and safely handling these items.
Synetic Technologies is an R2/RIOS and ISO 14001 certified company that has partnered with several counties and communities throughout the states of Kansas and Missouri to offer residents and businesses an opportunity to drop off unwanted electronics for responsible recycling.
The company ensures all electronics are properly handled and recycled, and any information on hard drives is eradicated using NIST 800-88 compliant software wiping.
The electronics recycling event is open to the public from 9:00 a.m. until noon at 1120 Clay. Residents are welcome and encouraged to stay in their vehicles while Synetic’s staff unloads material to be recycled.
Items that cannot be accepted at this event include: light bulbs, devices containing mercury, alkaline batteries, fluorescents, household chemicals, toys, books, paint, vacuum cleaners, toaster ovens and microwaves.
