Kansas Selects netPlanner

Raytown, MO based netEOP, Inc. today announced that their proprietary software, netPlanner, has been purchased by the Kansas Department of Emergency Management (KDEM) and the Kansas Department of Health and Environment (KDHE). The addition of netPlanner will supplement the netEOP product which was purchased by the state in 2006.

The addition of netPlanner in Kansas demonstrates an ever-growing acceptance of the netEOP products among emergency management departments and managers. According to Angee Morgan, Senior Plans Officer for the Kansas Department of Emergency Management, “The addition of netPlanner was a natural consideration after our positive experience with the development of netEOP. We were looking for a highly secure, web-enabled product to keep our emergency management tools current, and this was the appropriate choice.”

“We are delighted with the acceptance of netEOP and netPlanner by the Kansas emergency management community and throughout the nation,” said Tanya Allen, President of netEOP, Inc. “Now, more than ever, state and local governments are eager to incorporate technology into their emergency planning and preparedness.”

netEOP is a web-enabled application that stores emergency operations plans, combined with planning guidance that is compliant with federal, state and local standards. netPlanner, an all-hazards capability-based planning tool, allows multiple users to participate and engage in active collaboration during the planning process. Prior to the introduction of netEOP and netPlanner, emergency preparedness documentation and planning was limited by access and paper.

In October of 2007, the State of Louisiana Governors Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Preparedness (GOHSEP) purchased netEOP, giving all parishes access to the State Emergency Operations Plan online, as well as the ability to collaborate on their planning efforts. netPlanner has also made its way onto college campuses, now used as part of the emergency planning courses at Arizona State University, and is under consideration for use in a number of other university programs.
